The majority of multi-vitamin products offer a one tablet daily recommendation. Usually taken after a meal and with a glass of water, multi-vitamins offer a nutritional supplement for individuals who want to get their daily dose of nutrition in the convenience of one little tablet. These products are widely available and are commonly located at most retail grocery stores, drug stores and online specialty shops.
Separate from many
medication requirements, an individual does not necessarily need to have a full
stomach before taking a multi-vitamin nutritional supplement. Most do, however,
recommend that one tablet be taken after a meal. Depending on the ingredients,
some multi-vitamins may need to be taken just before a meal or even on an empty
stomach.
The most effective
way to begin a multi-vitamin nutritional regimen is to schedule a certain time
each day in which to take a tablet. If done on a regular schedule, individuals
are much more likely to stay with their routine, as opposed to those who decide
to take vitamins at random times every day.
When taking any
type of a nutrition supplement, consumers are urged to read the packaging
thoroughly. This includes any directions for use, warnings and/or cautionary
measures that should be taken. Another important part of a multi-vitamin
nutritional supplement is the expiration date, which should be checked before
purchase. If an individual were to consume expired vitamins, he/she could
suffer ill effects and may even require hospitalization. In general, expiration
is found on the outside packaging or on the bottom of the bottle.
Some individuals
suffer from anxiety when it comes to swallowing any type of pill, whether it is
large or small. Vitamins are designed to be slick and should be easy to
swallow, but nerves often prevent this from being the case. For those who have
real difficulties in swallowing vitamins, it may be a good idea to select the
smallest tablets possible. It can sometimes be difficult to tell from the
outside packaging, but the smallest tablets are generally in a smaller bottle.
In addition, a clear bottle will reveal the size of the tablet just by taking a
close look.
